FAQs

Do you charge deposits?

No – Unlike most rental companies we don’t for our standard rentals.

(Group bookings may be subject to a deposit).

What do I get with the board rental?

In addition to a quality Inflatable Paddleboard, we’ll also supply a handy backpack carry bag, a pump, a paddle and a leash. You can order buoyancy aids and other cool extras in our booking system. See Our Equipment

How does your rental system work?

We use an online booking system to make booking with us simple and secure . Feel free to call us too! We also rent from our base near Colchester in Essex on the River Stour – with onsite parking.

Are your boards good for children?

Yes, they are stable and lightweight.  We always recommend that children wear buoyancy aids and are supervised at ALL times. Children under the age of 18 Must be supervised by an adult at all times.

What are your delivery charges?

Delivery starts at £25 return if we are sending to you. We supply a return label and instructions how to easily return with Parcel Force. If you want to avoid paying for delivery, you can collect from us near Colchester in Essex. For group bookings we can potentially arrange one van/driver to drop off to an agreed location which will also incur a delivery charge. Please contact us and we can work out the best deal for you.

Will I get my board in time?

Yes! We send your boards no less than 3 working days before your booking start date via courier. We let you know when they are dispatched to you and you can track the board all the way.

How heavy are the boards?

Our boards are inflatable and can easily be carried by 1 adult. We supply a backpack if you want to carry longer distances or from a car to the beach. The backpack also has wheels so can easily be transported around. They weigh about 8 kg

Will I fall in?

Not necessarily! But likely! It’s always best to plan as though you might.

With a good technique and on calm waters you should stay dry. Always wear appropriate clothing and have a dry set at the end of your trip.

Can you deliver to my holiday accommodation?

It’s possible, but we always require a signature, so long as this is possible it should be fine. We suggest you call us if in doubt

Which payment methods are accepted?

For all bookings made online, you will recieve a invoice via email. The invice has our bank details attached, so you can easily make a bank transfer.

Or we take cash and card if you hire on the day.

Can I buy a board if I like it?

Sure. Call us if you want to keep your board and we can discuss.

Am I insured?

YES – We carry public liability insurance up to £3 Million. Customers could be charged a maximum of £300 for any claim on Damage, Loss or Theft whilst hiring our boards.

Can I cancel my order?

Yes, for Long-term/Group Bookings you are able to cancel bookings up to 14 days before the booking date with no charge.

If it’s within the 14 days, we charge 50%.

For riverside bookings, Unfortunately, we cannot accept fully refunded cancellations under any personal circumstances however we will do our very best to satisfy a partial refund where applicable or a full refund to your full purchase value by way of The Paddle Company activity vouchers.

Do you paddle board in all weather conditions?

No, not all weather conditions. Most conditions Yes, The Paddle Company maintains the right to cancel sessions at any time should we deem the weather conditions too dangerous. We do not cancel sessions due to the rain or cloudy sky. We cancel sessions if the wind is blowing dangerously, or in the instance of lightning storms. Where sessions need to be cancelled by The Paddle Company,  due to adverse weather, we will offer vouchers which can be redeemed at any time in the future, unless you live out of the county. In that instance, a full refund will be offered.

Can you deliver abroad?

No we do not rent abroad for insurance reasons. You and we are not insured for using our equipment in any other countries than England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. If you want to take abroad you will need to let us know.

Is paddle boarding safe?

Yes. Like all water based activities common sense is needed and we do not recommend the use of our equipment under the influence of alcohol or drugs.  Children should be supervised at all times. We have put together some Safety Information for you. Please see Our Equipment.
